Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is hasn’t changed for thousands of years. However our thinking and perception of it certainly has. Language is a powerful thing, and in different cultures the same word can have a variety of definitions. Throughout the evolution of yoga practice, the same word – Hatha – has come to mean different things too.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga is a popular style of yoga that emphasizes the coordination of breath and movement. It is a dynamic and flowing practice that links various yoga poses together in a sequence, creating a continuous and smooth flow. The word "vinyasa" is derived from the Sanskrit words "vi," meaning "in a special way," and "nyasa," meaning "to place."

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and structured form of yoga that emphasizes synchronizing breath with a progressive series of postures. Developed by K. Pattabhi Jois, it consists of six series, each with a set sequence of poses. Ashtanga promotes physical strength, flexibility, and mental focus through a disciplined practice, fostering a holistic approach to well-being and self-realization.

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga, developed by B.K.S. Iyengar, emphasizes precision and alignment in asanas (postures) through the use of props like belts and blocks. Focused on physical and mental well-being, it promotes strength, flexibility, and balance. With an emphasis on breath control, practitioners gain heightened self-awareness and concentration. Iyengar Yoga is accessible to all, accommodating individuals of varying abilities and ages.

Bikram Yoga

Bikram Yoga is a style of hot yoga consisting of a sequence of 26 postures and two breathing exercises, typically performed in a room heated to 105°F (40.6°C). Created by Bikram Choudhury, it aims to enhance flexibility, strength, and balance while promoting detoxification. Classes follow a specific 90-minute format, emphasizing consistency and intensity in practice.

Through dynamic postures, breathwork, and meditation, practitioners seek to channel this powerful energy upward, fostering spiritual growth and self-awareness.
